Kaiserschmarrn vegan

Kaiserschmarrn veganKaiserschmarrn is a traditional Austrian and Bavarian dessert. This is one of my favorite dessert. You really need to try it! You will not regret it. Trust me 🙂

Ingredients (serves 2)

4 tbsp coconut sugar
1 vanilla pod
2 tsp baking powder
150 g wholemeal spelt flour
50 g ground oats
300 ml oat milk
50 ml sunflower oil
60 ml mineral water (sparkling)
2 tbsp sunflower oil
coconut sugar powder



Mix sugar, seeds scraped from 1 vanilla pod, salt and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Gradually whisk in the flour, oats and milk to make a smooth batter. Than, whisk in 50 ml oil. Stir in the water carefully. After you added the water, stop whisking the batter!

Heat 2 tbsp oil in a a large skillet. Pour the batter into the skillet and cook 5 to 6 minutes, or until the pancake has set and the bottom is golden brown. Turn over the pancake and cook 3 minutes, or until this side is also golden brown. Using two forks, tear the pancake into bite-size pieces.

Spread some sugar powder over the pancakes. I recommend to eat the pancakes with apple puree. A recipe for selfmade apple puree you find here.Kaiserschmarrn vegan
