vegan two crust apple pie


A few days ago I received a lot of apples from a patient. So I made my mothers favorite apple pie. The original recipe is not vegan unfortunately. But I just had to change a few things to make it a vegan recipe. And here it is one of my favorite vegan two crust apple pie. Here is the video! Well I would like to know what is your favorite apple recipe? Is it also apple pie?


1 tbsp flax seed
3 tbsp water
1 ½ Cups spelt flour
½ Cup ground oats
¾ Cup coconut sugar
1 tsp vanilla sugar (homemade)
¼ Cup soy yoghurt
½ Cup vegan butter
4 Cups apples
2 tbsp lemon juice
¾ Cup apple juice
4 tbsp custard powder (vanilla)
Butter and flour for the baking pan


6 tbsp flaked almonds
1 Cup powdered sugar
3 – 4 tbsp lemon juice


Mix flax seed with water and chill for 15 minutes. That is your egg substitute. Preheat oven to 390º F / 200 ° C.

Mix spelt flour, oats, ½ cup coconut sugar, vanilla sugar, butter, soy yoghurt and egg substitute in a large bowl and knead dough. Refrigerate dough for 1 hour.

Peal, core and cut into little pieces the apples. Cook apples with 2 tbsp lemon juice and ½ cup apple juice for 5 minutes. Mix custard poweder with ¼ cup apple juice and add it tot he apples. Let it cook for 1 minute. Than, let the apples chill.

Prepare baking pan with butter and flour. Roll out half of the dough and put it into the baking pan. Add the apple mixture and cover with the other part of the doug (rolled out). Bake for 35-40 minutes.

Let the cake chill. Roast flaked almonds. Mix powdered sugar with 3-4 tbsp lemon juice. Top the cake with it and add flaked almonds.

      sorry for my super late answer. Well, you have to substitute the vegan butter with non-vegan butter, soy yoghurt with cream cheese and flax seeds with 1 or 2 eggs. That’s it.
